CDMA Network Change

The CDMA network (an older network technology) will be replaced by a 4G network in regions across Canada starting on the following dates:

What do these changes mean?

Customers will no longer be able to use their CDMA phone for calls (including 9-1-1), texts, and data after the end dates in the regions above.

Prepaid customers will no longer be able to top up on their current phones starting on the start dates mentioned in the table below. Prepaid balances will also expire across all regions on the balance expiry date mentioned below; however, if you upgrade your phone (to one that runs on the 4G network technology) before the balance expiry, the balance will be transferred to your new phone and the top-up blocks will be removed. Your PC mobile number and rate plan will be transferred to your new device.

Will I still be able to make/receive calls (including 911 services)?
Starting on the dates above, you will no longer be able to make or receive calls on the CDMA network in the areas noted.
Will I still be able to send/receive texts?
Starting on the dates above, you will no longer be able to send or receive texts on the CDMA network in the areas noted.
Will I still have data connectivity?
Starting on the dates above, you will no longer be able to use cellular data on the CDMA network in the areas noted.
How do I know if I'm on the CDMA network?
If you are on the CDMA network, you will see a network identifier near the battery icon on the display of your device.
